Thrift Find: Plaid!

Good evening!

I know I have not posted in a while, I have been so busy! All my projects sit collecting dust. It is a bit of a non-stopper month! This week due to some cold weather, I had to run into a thrift store for some cheap sheets to wrap my tomato plans and corn in. Just when I was leaving my eye caught this beauty... for just $2. I don't know what it is with me and plaid! and polka dots! and stripes!

I-yi-yi!

I bought it.

Though I adore this blouse, the constant brain-stormer that I am thought, "Hummm, pearls would make a fabulous mix of rugged and chic." So, I got some pearl buttons (after washing of course, ikk). :)

And....

Va-la!

I truly am happy with the result!

Hopefully soon I will have time to post more, but until then this will have to do...

A Veil For A Friend

A school friend of mine is getting married soon and asked if I could make a custom veil for her... so here it is!

I sent her special package in her colors...

Mr. Law's Gift to Me

Mr. Law recently bought me this beautiful linens chest. I had been looking for a bench of sorts to go in our hallway by the front door so that guest could comfortably take off their shoes, if need be. When I saw a chest similar to this one I instantly adored the idea of a chest in the hall way with a home-made cushion on top, for seating. We both looked at this one and liked it. However, there were scratches and dents in to wood finish, so I took a day and sanded it down, taped off the inside and painted it white. Mr. Law commented when he saw it, saying "My baby sure likes white." How right he is!!!

My next project is to make a cushion for the top... :) Also, little covers for the drawers that pop up when the chest lid opens... so much fun!
